It's been a great day! All the local family was here for dinner and birthday cake. Isaac helped me mix the ingredients for the cake and he and his cousins helped decorate it with Smarties. In addition to his dinner, Josiah ate and enjoyed small pieces of Cheesies and I managed to get a crumb from his cake in his mouth and I think he liked that as well. He also burst into tears with the cake but I think it was a little late and overwhelming.
Yesterday Isaac was thankful for numbers. I read a similar idea in a book: I let Isaac know that I need to tell him a secret and then I whisper in his ear something like, "Mommy loves you." He then usually repeats it with a smile. Yesterday for the first time after I did this to him, he had a secret for Mommy. He whispered, "Isaac loves Mommy" into my ear.
I'm always so proud of him when he does this! |
Josiah just woke up crying so I went to see him. I think he needed to burp but when I picked him up I realized that I had buttoned up his sleeper with one of his rattles inside! He should be more comfortable now.
We still have things to do for tomorrow so I'll say goodnight! Thanks for your prayers! We look forward to the celebration tomorrow.
Blessings,
Elizabeth
P.S. We hope you can come to Josiah's celebration! Celebration details found below.
Josiah's Celebration Details:
Who: Everyone is invited; please come and go as you please
What: Josiah's Celebration Open House
When: Sunday, April 14 between 4:00 - 5:00 (singing Happy Birthday at 4:30)
Where: Fellowship Hall at Waterloo Pentecostal Assembly
Why: To celebrate all that God has done in Josiah Faulkner's life.
Refreshments: Birthday cake, punch, coffee, and tea
Gifts: In place of giving birthday gifts, we would rather this just be a time of celebrating God’s faithfulness in Josiah’s life. Josiah would love it if you would write him a letter telling him about something good God has done for you. If that is not something you are comfortable with, please feel free to write him an encouraging letter. These letters will be posted at the party (unless otherwise noted) and then put into a book to celebrate and honour God’s love and faithfulness. We hope to see you there!
You are more than welcome to come, even if you haven't RSVP'd.
Psalm 139:13-18
13 For You formed my inward parts;
You covered me in my mother’s womb.
14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.
15 My frame was not hidden from You,
When I was made in secret,
And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.
And in Your book they all were written,
The days fashioned for me,
When as yet there were none of them.
You covered me in my mother’s womb.
14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.
15 My frame was not hidden from You,
When I was made in secret,
And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.
And in Your book they all were written,
The days fashioned for me,
When as yet there were none of them.
17 How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God!
How great is the sum of them!
18 If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand;
When I awake, I am still with You.
How great is the sum of them!
18 If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand;
When I awake, I am still with You.
Happy Birthday Josiah :)
