A better day

We had a lovely nurse today who is originally from Northern England.  I enjoyed listening to her accent and her singing "London Bridge is Falling Down" to Josiah.  She's had lots of experience with babies, including heart babies.  She was able to give me some suggestions for Josiah's face tapes and she explained how to remove the Tegaderm film correctly so that it hopefully won't cause discomfort next time.  Thank you Lord for nurse H.  She once worked in the Critical Care Unit at SickKids back in the day.

It was great to have a volunteer from the Hospice who spent time with Isaac.  Isaac didn't take too long to warm up to her.  She'll come once a week.

Josiah had a better day today.  He moaned less but he slept quite a lot.  We only gave him the higher dose of morphine once.  It's hard to say for sure but I think carrots may have taken first place on his favourite food list.  He tried them for lunch today and thoroughly enjoyed them.  I'm not sure if I should admit this but when I give him food I put him in his chair which I put in the crib and then I take off his sleeper to his waist and cover his sleeper with a receiving blanket.  I'm happy that he is good at getting messy but I'd rather wash the receiving blanket than keep changing his clothes.

We enjoyed our tasty leftovers from last night's dinner.  Isaac is looking forward to spending time with his grandparents tomorrow (as am I).  Currently, I'm looking forward to sleep so I'll say goodnight.  Thank you so much for your prayers.

Blessings,

Elizabeth
