Fever gone

I gave Isaac his last dose of Advil just after midnight last night so hopefully his fever is gone for good - five days is long enough.  Unfortunately, Graham and my parents are now officially under the weather and Isaac and I are still sick.

This morning Josiah would not calm down.  He had morphine at 6:00 AM but at 6:50 AM we gave him a dose of chloral hydrate to sedate him.  That's the first time since coming home that we've used this drug.  Thankfully it seemed to work within minutes and we didn't need it the rest of the day.  There were a few more smiles today (including a lot when he was sleeping according to my dad who was holding him) but he also moaned a lot.

He's making more progress with his oral feeds.  Yesterday and today he's actually allowing the spoon to be put right into his mouth which is exciting to see.  He enjoyed his peaches at lunch today.

I had a need this Thursday night and someone from church called out of the blue and met the need.

We're putting solo time on hold while we're sick.  When Isaac is well, he can play in Josiah's room but if both of them are up and needing attention after the nurse leaves and before Graham gets home from work, it helps to have another pair of hands.  My parents were here today.  My sister-in-law will be here tomorrow and my in-laws will be here on Wednesday.

It's time to say goodnight.  Thank you for all the prayers - we really appreciate your support!

Blessings,

Elizabeth
