Progress

My mother-in-law was here today.  I had a lovely nap and forgot all about the case manager who was coming to meet me.  It's a good thing my mother-in-law was here to answer the door and wake me up.  It was nice to meet the case manager and we had a good chat while watching Josiah show off for her in the living room.

I don't think I've ever seen Josiah as active as he was this afternoon.  He was lying on his mat and turning himself around (not over) and grabbing at things and then he was in his Bumbo for a long time.  Today is also the first time I've seen him pick up food from his tray and put it in his mouth and eat it himself.  Yeay!!!  He tuckered himself out before his physiotherapist showed up so he wasn't quite as productive for her but she said his chest sounded good.  His visiting nurse was here this morning and she said his lungs sounded clear for the first time since he returned from McMaster.

The nurse practitioner will come on Thursday.  I haven't thought much about Josiah's weight gain but our shift nurse pointed out that it's actually quite concerning for a heart baby to gain too much weight.  It's harder on his heart and can make it more difficult to breathe.  I'm praying that God will give the nurse practitioner wisdom to know how to help Josiah.  Our wonderful dietitian is confused about Josiah's feeds and the concentration of his formula.  It's confusing to know how much weight Josiah is gaining due to his feeds and how much is just fluid retention.   We definitely need wisdom and we know Who has it to give.

We heard this week that we've been approved for nursing hours through Graham's insurance.  It was a lovely surprise.  Thank You Lord!  We want wisdom to know when to use these hours.  We'll prioritize the weekends as they are usually somewhat stressful.  The question will be whether or not nurses are available for these shifts.

Thank you so much for your prayers!

Blessings,

Elizabeth
