Nursing shifts

I received confirmation today that we will have Sunday nursing shifts scheduled from now until the end of July.  A nurse will come from 1:00 - 9:00 PM.  From this Sunday until the end of July, three different nurses will have shifts so this means training three different nurses and hoping that Josiah takes to them.  I'm pretty hands on during first shifts and often Josiah is extra fussy because he doesn't know the person trying to console him.  I'm hoping this helps lessen our stress and not increase it.  I remember when I was pregnant with Isaac someone advised me to not worry about the doctor but to pray for fabulous nurses.  God answered that prayer and has also given us fabulous nurses for Josiah.  We're praying for more.

Isaac, my mom and I walked to and from the library this morning.  The OT and speech and language pathologist were here when I returned.  There's not much change with Josiah's eating and drinking.  We just need to keep practising with small pieces of soft fruit and vegetables.  He's doing a great job biting and chewing crunchy things and his drinking is improving as well.  We thank God for all of his progress, though there are days when I want things to go faster.

I had a nice visit with a friend this afternoon.

Josiah and Isaac had a good day.  When he was quite a bit younger I would sometimes say to Isaac when he was very upset and wouldn't calm down, "Would you like me to pray and ask Jesus to help you calm down?"  He would agree and it usually worked.  I now forget that sometimes because Isaac doesn't get worked up quite as much.  Yesterday he was very worked up for some reason and I was trying to console him.  He was saying something through his tears so I couldn't understand at first but then I realized he was saying, "Pray for me."  I prayed and he calmed down after I finished.  I'm glad he knows who to look to when life seems overwhelming and he doesn't know how to calm down himself.

I noticed this week that Josiah's hair is growing more on the sides of his head and his bald spot on the back of his head is growing in as well so I was happy about that.

I didn't take any photos today so I'll have to find some older ones.  Thank you so much for your prayers!

Blessings,

Elizabeth
