Two and a half!

Isaac is now two and a half years old!  I just realized that I didn't take his picture today - too bad.  We had a nice play date this morning with my friend and her son who is just a couple of months younger than Isaac.  My friend just had a baby and she had spent time making me ... drum roll please ... raspberry chocolate cake pops!!!  Wow!  Isaac enjoyed his half a cake pop and Graham said they were good and decadent.  I will thoroughly enjoy one or more tomorrow as Graham and I will be celebrating our ninth anniversary.  They have certainly looked tempting in the fridge!  What a thoughtful friend! Thankfully, she had made them before she'd read that I had given up baked goods for now.  Thankfully our anniversary is tomorrow!

Isaac was happy to see Grandma and Grandpa F. when he woke up from his nap.  He was also able to see his other grandparents as they stopped by with my one aunt who lives in Canada (besides all of the new aunts I gained when I married Graham).  She's never been in our home so it was lovely to have her here and it's always a joy to see her.  She brought me some delicious looking cake which I will need to try tomorrow.

We had a very tasty supper tonight made by a friend of my in-laws.  It was accompanied by some decadent brownies which smelled and looked great and the others seemed to thoroughly enjoy them.  Perhaps it is becoming clear why I have decided to stop eating treats except on celebration days!  We are blessed with so many people who love us and support us.

One of Josiah's eyes is often not focused with the other one.  I finally remembered to ask about this when we saw our local GP last week.  He will give us a referral for a local ophthalmologist to query intermittent strabismus.  He said they might want to patch his good eye if he does have this.  Josiah will also go for a hearing test locally in July.  He's at risk for hearing loss and one test at SickKids showed that one of his ears does not hear certain sounds.  We never finished that testing so it will be good to have this done.  Apart from crying, Josiah is often very quiet so I've been wondering about his hearing.

Josiah had physio this afternoon.  He was very tired as he had hardly napped all day so he didn't tolerate the work very long but I was reminded of the exercises that we need to do to try to increase the strength in his arms and legs so that he has a better chance of learning to crawl.

Thank you for your prayers!

Blessings,

Elizabeth

  2. Happy Anniversary! :) Just wanted to say that i had a patch for a while(about 6 months before starting kindergarten) as a kid and then wore glasses throughout elementary school. I now only need glasses for reading. It is great to catch that early and means it can be easily corrected! :) Wearing a patch is no fun... but Josiah is younger so it probably not bother him self-image wise as much. (My mum made me a pink one because i was afraid otherwise I'd look like a pirate... haha).

    Enjoy your cake pops!:)

  3. Good morning Graham and Elizabeth:

Today is a splendid day to celebrate your anniversary. Congratulations! I will pray for Josiah and the upcoming tests. He has gone though so much. God is so awesome and so faithful. He certainly has a plan for this precious one. He has taught many people about God's amazing grace, tenacity and faithfulness.

    Have a great celebration.

    Bye for now,

    Christy
