Abundant provision

Josiah was up in the night last night.  He was upset and he seemed to be having difficulty with his swallowing and breathing so I woke up Graham and asked him to draw up the morphine as Josiah's crying increased if I put him down.  I'm not sure if he really needed morphine or not as he seemed to settle quickly,  before the morphine would have been absorbed.  I am thankful that he went back to sleep.

Isaac was excited to go to a farm today to see baby chicks.  He was able to wear his rubber boots.  After Grandma showed him how, he even mustered up the courage to pet the cat.

A friend from church came by for a visit and she brought a delicious meal with her.  It was lovely to catch up with her and have her hold Josiah.  Another friend came by tonight for supper.  It was a good day for Isaac's volunteer to come and play with him this afternoon.

Josiah was fussy again after lunch.  The stroller helped.  The nurse thinks it's a digestion issue.  I've contacted the pharmacist to ask some questions regarding his medications.  Josiah's feeds are still half breast milk so I'm wondering how he will tolerate his full formula feeds in a few days.  Please pray that this transition goes smoothly.

One year ago today, on the last Wednesday in March, I had an MRI at SickKids so they could look at Josiah inside me.  There was actually a team of researchers looking at me and Josiah.  I thank the Lord for whomever told me to take music as I don't think I would have lasted in the machine without it.  Actually, I realized that I had forgotten to charge my old iPod; however, God even provided a charger through one of the research team members.  I listened to Amy Grant's Christmas album in March.  I find it calming.

Following the MRI, I then moved into the home of strangers to await the birth of Josiah.  My eldest brother's former pastor and his wife graciously invited me into their home so that I would be near Mt. Sinai Hospital when I went into labour.  They were strangers for all of two minutes.  I consider this lovely couple to be like family.  They blessed me so much and it was the perfect place to wait.  God provides abundantly.  His love is amazing.

At the same time, my parents moved into our home to care for Isaac.  God's timing is perfect.  My dad had just retired three months prior and they were already planning to move to Kitchener.  What a blessing for Isaac to be able to stay in his own home while getting used to Grandma and Grandpa caring for him.

It's time to sign off.  Thanks very much for praying!

Blessings,

Elizabeth

  1. Hello Elizabeth and Graham.

Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
let the earth hear His voice!
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
    let the people rejoice!
O come to the Father through Jesus the Son,
    and give Him the glory,
    Great things He hath done.

Thank you Jesus for dying on the Cross and shedding your blood as a sacrifice for our sins, so that we can repent and accept You as our Lord and Saviour and have everlasting life in Heaven one day.
And this is the promise that He hath promised us, even eternal life. 1 John 2:25.

But unto you that fear My name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in His wings; and ye shall go forth and grow up as calves of the stall. Malachi 4:2

I pray Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, that Josiah will be healed completely. He will breathe easily and swallow well always. Holy Spirit please be beside Josiah all the time. During each night may Josiah feel at peace and cosily relaxed, secure in God’s love and protection, and sleep beautifully and safely. Heavenly Father grant a good safe night’s sleep always to Elizabeth, Graham, Isaac, Grandfather and Grandmother F, and Grandfather and Grandmother L. Thank you gracious God and we give You the glory.

The photographs have been a pleasure to see. I especially liked the photo of you Elizabeth and Isaac on Sunday, and adorable Josiah in his green outfit sleeping on the soft green blanket last Friday. Beautifully taken photographs.

Read your Bible, Pray every day,
Pray every day, Pray every day.
Read your Bible, Pray every day if you want to grow.
If you want to grow, if you want to grow.
Read your Bible, Pray every day if you want to grow.

Grandpa L can sing this chorus and do the actions with Isaac.

And now, little children, abide in Him; that, when He shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before Him at His coming. I John 2 v 28.

Much love and prayers from your auntie Julia.
