One day at a time

Josiah was fussier today.  He missed having a BM yesterday and didn't have one until this afternoon so that may have affected his mood.  He didn't eat at lunch but he also had the hiccups.  When the OT and the speech and language pathologist were here, he wasn't too interested in having milk in his mouth but at least he didn't have trouble swallowing it.  He ate some of his butternut squash for dinner but he tired quickly.  Tonight he was sweatier than normal and fell asleep earlier.

It's lovely to hear our nurse playing with Josiah and enjoying him.

I am quite excited about potty training.  Isaac was on his sixth pair of underwear before 9:00 AM.  He has loads of room for improvement!  Actually, he napped this afternoon for over two and a half hours and to my astonishment he was dry when he woke up.  One day at a time.

My sister-in-law was here this morning.  Isaac enjoyed looking at books with her and I enjoyed the chance to do some much needed laundry (in order for Isaac to have enough underwear).

Thanks so much for your prayers and support!

Blessings,

Elizabeth

p.s. Graham here... I remarked to Elizabeth earlier tonight that I find dealing with Isaac's current potty training more stressful than dealing with having a child with heart defects.  We're praying that his training goes quickly, for everyone's benefit!  Thanks for your prayers.

John 15:5 (Jesus speaking)
Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches.  Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit.  For apart from me you can do nothing.

  1. Today, I thought of the words of the hymn "Moment by Moment" and when I came across this verse:
    Never a heartache, and never a groan,
    Never a teardrop, and never a moan;
    Never a danger but there on the throne
    Moment by moment He thinks of His own.
    I thought about Josiah and how he sometimes groans or moans when he is not comfortable and stressed. Praise the Lord for your continued, steadfast faith and trust in God's love. May you all have the sweet presence and comforting power of Jesus throughout today!

  2. Graham, I have often encouraged young parents to relax, and to recognize that it WILL happen....but probably when you least expect it!
