Excited

I get to this point of the day and I try to remember all that happened.  Josiah woke up happy around 5:00.  I had actually just left Isaac's room where I had fallen asleep after being up with him in the middle of the night.  I thought I'd get back to bed and then Josiah woke up.  He had perfect timing.

I changed his diaper and then I was able to get a little more sleep after I found a new tickle spot in his underarm.  It's always a hard choice of whether or not to leave him.  He's usually in a great mood then but I also know that I need more sleep so I give him things to play with and make sure he's happy and then I typically try to go back to bed before I need to prepare his milk and meds.

Josiah had a good morning but was quite fussy in the early afternoon.  He falls asleep around 3:30 PM like clockwork.  It's the perfect time for Grandpa to rock him and sing and pray.  Josiah enjoyed his food today and ate a good amount.  He was very happy before bed.  I gave him a toothette to hold (a sponge that I dip in water and put in his mouth for oral care).  His eyes lit up and his feet were kicking and he breathed loudly from excitement.

Isaac and I had fun labelling doors and walls today.  My kindergarten teacher suggested over a year ago that I label things in our house so that Isaac will start to realize that letters go together into words and that words represent things.  Today we started labelling doors and walls.  He sat on my lap as I wrote the word and then I put tape on the paper and he went and found a "door" to put it on and then he ran back to me to get me to go and see it.  Then we did it all over again.  We certainly enjoyed ourselves.

The nurse pointed out that Josiah's fifth tooth is coming in on the bottom.  He also said that Josiah's nose sounded congested.  He sneezed a couple of times this morning.  He was very sweaty when he went to bed tonight.  He did enjoy eating his food today so that was nice to see.

It felt like Isaac was going to the potty all morning.  Did I mention that we have a potty in our living room?  When I first read that during the training period he should have a potty in the room where he spends the most time, I did not think I would be following that advice.  However, I'm glad I did follow the advice; it certainly comes in handy when Graham or I are already using the washroom.  I may try to move it to his room soon as that would be convenient during the times when he wakes up in the middle of the night.

I received amazing cds of children's music from a friend.  Isaac and I have found our new dancing song.

I think I'll try to go to bed early tonight.  Isaac doesn't usually have a very energetic mommy in the mornings.

We thank you for your prayers!  We couldn't do this alone.

Blessings,

Elizabeth

Isaiah 40:28-31
Have you never heard?  Have you never understood?  The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth.  He never grows weak or weary.  No one can measure the depths of his understanding.  He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.  Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion.  But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.  They will soar high on wings like eagles.  They will run and not grow weary.  They will walk and not faint.
